sure.... Scone is the horse capital of the Southern Hemisphere.. it is located in the Hunter Valley about 2 hours drive west from Newcastle in New South Wales..... There is plenty of wealthy people around the area and I'm sure there would be a quality boarding school somewhere. summary: you want a school in Scone.
2 :
in armidale there is. new england girls school or something.it has horses on site and stuff. my friend went there.
3 :
There is one in NSW that is called NEGS (New England Girls School). It is located just outside of Armidale. The facilities include an all weather indoor arena, a jumping arena, a cross country course, a polo crosse field and stables. The Equestrian Centre offers riding tuition to students from Kindergarten to Year 12, from the basics of learning to ride and care for a horse to a Board Endorsed course in Primary Industries (Agriculture-Horses) for students in Years 11 & 12. Students may board their own horse at NEGS or the Equestrian Centre can provide horses for students to ride. Unless the text books are included in the fees, which they aren't generally in Australia and this is for secondary school, for new text books depending on the year level generally between $500 - $1000. You can save a few hundred dollars if you can by second hand text books. Generally scientific calculator aren't more than $20, but when you need to buy a graphics calculator it's about $200.

Hi I work in a primary school in Queensland. You will be starting in a high school grade 8 or 9. What state and school will you be attending that should give everyone a bit more info to answer you. You might even find someone on here that goes to the school already. Just be yourself the English accent will go a long way with the girls lol :) kids are kids anywhere you go there are good and bad nasty and kind. If you are starting in grade 8 it will be easier for you as most kids will be new to the high school aswel. You can email me if you have more questions I have a son in high school grade 10.
4 :
hey ! my best friend did the exactly the same thing, she was english and move to australia. let my tell you a bit about what happened to her. she started in a primary school and most of the kids wanted her to talk all the time, because of her accent, they thought it was so strange. after a while she dropped her accent. she did fine friend wise, usually a teacher will introduce you to a kid or two and you can go round with them until you settle in. don't freak out or anything, it will be okay. i live in australia obviously and all the people hear are friendly! don't worry about the little things, conversations will start naturally, just be your self . don't lie to everyone to sound cool or whatever. they will be very interesting in england and you will probably make allot of good friends ! i can tell you i think english people rock ! hope i help, really have fun in oz !

I don't know what you mean by a boarding school for college. There are boarding schools in Australia, of course. But you can't just decide that you'll go there. Your parents have to apply, be interviewed and wait to see if you are accepted. You don't say how old you are. Perhaps you mean university, not school (we don't call university 'school'). They do have boarding colleges and you would have to apply. I think we use different terminology from USA (like 'college', 'school'). Try Google. Type in 'Australian universities' (if that's what you mean).
2 :
G'day, I have to agree with Cliffordex, since you are mixing 3 different study levels altogether in one questions. In Australia, schools means your general schooling, which is the first 12yrs of your school studies (Primary and High School). College usually offers non-degree courses (Certificates & Diplomas) after you finish your high-school study. University is the one to look for degree courses (bachelor, masters and PhD). All three levels of study may have boarding/on-campus accommodation facility in the institutions. However it will be terribly long answer for me to specify all three of them here. Please clarify your question and it may not be a bad idea to re-post your question in Travel - Australia, since quite alot of Australian questions are posted there, so you may get more responses. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)

Going to school in Australia

G'day, OK... you are asking 2 different level of education. In Australia, most colleges only offer non-degree courses. This means they offer certificate or diploma courses. They are called TAFE (public institutions) or simply private college. On completion of diploma course, you can transfer to uni, usually on the 2nd year. University is the one offering degree courses, which means the bachelor, masters and PhD. There are only 42 (soon to be 43) universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The Australian uni's offering animation are as follows (no particular orders): Charles Sturt Uni (www.csu.edu.au) RMIT Uni (www.rmit.edu.au) Griffith Uni (www.griffith.edu.au) Deakin Uni (www.deakin.edu.au) Uni of Canberra (www.canberra.edu.au) UNSW (www.unsw.edu.au) UTS (www.uts.edu.au) Uni of Western Sydney (www.uws.edu.au) La Trobe Uni (www.latrobe.edu.au) Tuition fee & requirements will be available in those websites. Please make sure that the information you accessing are the ones for international students, not for local students, as there are some difference in regards to tuition fees. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification (in English and original language). The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year. If you are interested in the college courses, it is called vocational studies. You can try the online database I provided below. These websites are the one that I got the info abt universities. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)

you cannot fail the school certificate in Australia. Just like the Higher School Certificate. all you basically have to do is write your name on the paper. you can do a really really bad job at it but you will always pass. You still have to do all the required assignments that go towards your mark. If you do really bad you will get a band 1 but that still counts as a pass.. (highest band 6).

How long is an elementary school day in Melbourne, Australia

How long is an elementary school day in Melbourne, Australia?
I'm just curious, how long is an elementary school day in Melbourne, Australia? Like, what time do the students arrive and when do classes get out? Also, is it true that schools run year-long over there? I've heard that classes go year round with breaks between terms.

We call it primary school here. The day in most schools runs from about 9:00am until 3:00pm. Schools have 4 terms that begin in late January/early February. There is a break of a week or two around April; additional breaks of 2 weeks or so in June/July and September/October with a long summer holiday for about 6 weeks from about mid-December until school starts again around late January. The above dates are approximate as each state is a little different and private schools usually have slightly longer breaks than government schools.
2 :
Well at my school (I'm in yr 7) We start at 8:45 and end at 3:25 . It always been like this at my school whether it was primary o high school. We start around late january for about 8 weeks then get a 2 week holiday. term 2 is another 8-10 weeks then another 2 weeks holiday, then term 3 for 9 weeks then a 3 week holiday, and then the final term is 8-10 weeks then we get a 8 week summer holiday that goes through christmas and the new year.

How competitive are medical schools in Australia compared to the US

How competitive are medical schools in Australia compared to the US?
I'm an undergraduate student in the US planning on attending a medical school here or possibly in Australia.. does anyone know how the two compare? I will have a degree by the time I am ready to apply to med school so I am interested in the graduate programs there.. does anyone know if med schools in Australia require pre-med courses like the US and if so what are they? Any info you can give me will help, thanks!
Higher Education (University +) - 3 Answers

It depends. I know for Australia schools for example Melbourne or Monash university, it needs a good undergraduate degree of at least 2nd upper class honours for graduate entry into medical school. US depends on whether is higher tier or middle tier medical school, for best medical school like Queen Mary Medical school in London, you will need a first class honours degree in any subject as they encourage diversity. But it is extremely competitive. If not, at least 2nd upper class honours. Next thing, take the MCAT or GMAT. Get a good grade. Then perform well in your interview, at your local representative. Good luck for your undergraduate degree and score well. Hope you will make it to medical school. See yar, hope it helps.
2 :
Hi there, The GAMSAT is a test for graduates to be admitted into Australian medical schools (Universities). A link is attached below with info. It is very competitive. We have a Doctor shortage in this country and an even greater shortage of medical places, due to the Govt's lack of investment in Universities. So, I encourage you to work hard at it, whereever you chose to study. We'd welcome you to Australia, that's for sure. It is certainly worthwhile to give this a go if you're planning on living and working in Australia. As I said, we have a Doctor shortage here and we could do with as many Doctors as we can get. Obviously if you're studying here we'd want you to be working here also... Even a full-fee paying student in Medical school isn't really any good to us if they don't practice medicine here. That's my view anyway. All the best with your studies.
3 :
G'day, Unfortunately you did not mention the area of study that you intend to do for your graduate course. To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. The information abt tuition fee and requirement will be available from the universities' website. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification. The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)

Australia school systems

Australia school systems?

Australian universities are currently on their mid-year break. Our university year begins late Feb./early March and ends in November. I think sophomore equates to what we call Second Year. I'm not sure though what class 2011 means exactly. Is that the year you will graduate? Or does it mean something else? In my state (Queensland), most 2nd year uni students would turn 19 some time during the year (keeping in mind that our uni year coincides with the calendar year). EDIT: I'm in Brisbane and the dates I have given are for Queensland. In Queensland, we have 2 university semesters per year. Semester 1 finished a couple of weeks ago. PS: Iv'e looked into the date question and universities throughout Australia are much the same as Queensland Unis. Other answerers are evidently confusing uni semester dates with K-12 dates which are very different and not relevant to university.
2 :
i am in perth and the start of the year is in february ..it's very different here. I am use to the Canadian school system which is a lot like the USA so it makes it easier but here it's so different but you will love it here!!
3 :
Hee hee, the old language problem. School (US) = university in Aus College (US) = school here Semester = term (we have four) Freshman, sophomore (I believe you spelt it wrong) = first, second year Different than = different from Where are you at? = Where are you/what stage are you up to? (depending on context) Class 2011 = ??? Our academic year starts in January or February.
4 :
ok a few things all australian educational institutions follow the calendar year. so universities start the year in early march, and finish in november. we dont have freshmen and sophomores, its just first, second, third year students etc. the uni year is split into 2 semesters (its now currently the semester break. second semester starts in a few weeks). im also the class of 2011. so my degree will be handed to me in november 2011 the person above me got a few things mixed up. college in the US is called university here. the 4 terms she was talking about refers to primary (years K-6) and high school (7-12). uni's follow the 2 semesters. Primary and high school start in early Feb, and uni's in early march because placements are still being organised until the end of Feb.
5 :
School starts in August and in college classes start in August too.

You will need to check with your school or the appropriate government agency in Australia. Why would you ask such an important question online instead of directly to the official source?
2 :
Have you been accepted as an Intern? If no then no you cant stay - there are only 600 odd intern positions available each year and over 800 students graduate - so international students are the last to be given positions (local students who finished in each state get first chance - then local students who have asked to move states and then international students)

G'day, They are of the same quality and recognition as there are no best university in Australia. Some ppl may make their own ratings, but none are recognised by Australian Government. I know you are not asking this, but just for your own reference. Please make sure that MBA is a suitable course for you. If you have just completed your bachelor study... most MBA course requires minimum of 2 years work experience in managerial level. Second, whether or not you have done a business course. MBA is actually created for ppl who do not have business background (eg, Engineer or Lawyers) but already got the work experience in managerial level. MBA course basically a fast-track business course where the students got the business course for abt 1-1.5yrs that usually given to undergraduate students for 3 yrs. MBA course is also a place where those managers exchanges ideas and experiences in real-life case studies. Therefore students who do not have work experiences before sometimes feel left-out. If you have business background, you might consider a specialisation course, eg. Master in Accounting/Marketing. So this is to 'deepen' your knowledge. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study :)

To be a Primary School Teacher in Australia

To be a Primary School Teacher in Australia?
I have a Commerce Degree from India and is NZQA assessed (equivalent to a NZ Commerce degree). I always had a passion for teaching but due to reasons could not study for it. I am now ready for it and would like more information about the qualifications required to be a Primary School Teacher in Australia? Please advise...
Primary & Secondary Education - 1 Answers

I believe you need to obtain a degree in Primary teaching. If you are prepared to study again, it will take around 3-4 years ( i think). I'm not sure because I am highschool trained. In Queensland, there is an oversupply of primary teachers. If you do not do remote service, you may find it hard to get 'permanent' employment. You may be lucky to get 'contract' positions, but this does not guarantee holiday pay like permanency. With your business degree, why not consider secondary education? I did an International business degree, then 10yrs later decided to teach. I used my business degree as a foundation, then did a bachelor of secondary education (graduate entry) in 1 1/2 years through University of Qld St Lucia. Now the course offered is only a year. This is quicker than getting a primary qualification. Also, I prefer to teach secondary because you can specialise in particular areas. Unlike primary, where you need to teach all subjects, often integrated into themes. Too much work for me. I take my hat off to primary teachers. You also could specialise in business. Because my business degree also incorporated politics, my secondary teaching area was SOSE. Hope this helps.

G'day I_Reyes, I'd be more than happy to talk with you about my experiences at school in Australia. Please, drop me a line! [rfi92526(at)bigpond.net.au or day-juice(at)hotmail.com] To BRIEFLY answer your questions; The Australian standard of education is rather pitiful. Most curricula are lacking and teachers often incompetant. If this at all concerns you, I would seek an alternative (to public education). Private schools are rather expensive. But, one can complete VCE at TAFE, opt for correspondance learning, virtual or home school. There are also tech. schools and art schools in some states. The grading system has recently been revised. To earn an A you must be two years ahead of your peers. And, as Australian schools are all about "...no child being left behind...", expect to see mostly C's. Students are very friendly. At my old school, everyone had their groups, but at the same time mingled. If you're not a total ass, you probably have nothing to worry about. Hope I could help, Michaela. ;)

3 :
I was going to pass this one, but I have to ask, what do you mean biggest? As in property size or the enrollment size. To give you an idea we have a school here that the size is small compared to the enrollments, The school has 4 streams in each KG to grade four elementary, grade 5 and 6 have swelled numbers to 6 streams each for the new school semester starting September. In contrast, another more modern and newer school in the same school board have had a major drop off as far as enrollments are concerned. I believe there enrollments are down to two and three streams being the maximum calculated so far. Chris PS same problem arising within the secondary school (high school) system.

I teach primary school in New Zealand, but I would think it was similar. I get up about 6:15, head to school about 7:30, arriving by 8. I spend an hour or so getting ready for the day - photocopying, organising resources etc. The students arrive from 8:45, so I chat with them as they come it. The day starts at 9, and we have a break from 10:40-11. I teach from 11-12:30, then lunch 12:30 -1:15 (I have playground duty one play time and 2 half lunchtimes per week, the other days I tend to eat for 10-15 minutes and then back to my room to mark books or prepare for the next session). In the classroom again from 1:15-3.I do my bus roll, which gets me back to my room about 3.10. At least twice a week (usually 3) I have a meeting until 4.30. I usually leave school by 5-5:30. Two or three times a week I bring books or other work home, which is another hour or two after dinner. You could probably manage 7-3 on a Friday, though, as you have the rest of the weekend to finish the work you didn't do in the week. I get paid reasonably well here (as long as I don't work it out as a hourly rate). I can run my car, pay my rent, eat out occasionally, and travel domestically and occasionally overseas. You won't get rich. (you also don't get to take two weeks off in the holidays, either!) Hope that helps

The best film school in the US is either Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, or Boston Art College in Massachusetts.

Some of this depends on whether you're more interested in artsy type movies, or mainstream blockbuster types. For mainstream types, I think USC and UCLA have the best track record of getting people into the business. I'm sure the location in LA helps.
3 :
American Film Academy CUNY Hunter (VERY inexpensive, Heart of N.Y.) Ithaca College Those are the few I can think of.

For a non-mentally disabled child it is 17, unless she is in a apprenticeship. I have a niggling feeling that if the child is mentally disabled the leaving age is 21 unless she is in a sheltered workshop.

if you like cricket the 2020 match is on sunday the 11th Australia vs South Africa, There's luna park but it costs a bit. Have you done the Eureka tower? It's not to badly priced. You can also go in the "edge" which is the glass box that comes out of the tower. It's way cheaper than the southern star (new ferris wheel) and you get way better views. If you like soccer there's Melbourne Victory games, $10 for a kids ticket. The queens victoria market is a good place to visit, cheap shopping. You can go on cruises along the yarra river. All these things cost money though. A picnic and/or walkin the botanical gardens is a good idea and doesn't cost anything.
2 :
Queen Victoria Market at night is awesome. It is on from Wednesday 26 November 2008 and runs every Wednesday until 25 February 2009. It has free entry. Over 35 stalls of freshly cooked international food. Over 100 stalls of shopping. Massages, beauty, jewellery making. 4 bars. Tarot readings. Or go to crown to watch a movie and then go out for a cheap asian dinner in richmond.

Hi well drop into to tourist centre at Federation Square and get things to do on the cheap it's really great info Cheers ♥

If you are just attending for one semester, then it won't really matter at all whether Swinburne is a 'good' school or not. What would you consider to be a "good" school? Swinburne is a legitimate Australian university with some programs that are unique to it. If your main aim is to experience life in Australia, then Swinburne is good enough. Hope this helps.

No, kids in Australia often start at 9:20am and finish at about 3:20. Time zones in Australia cover big land areas, so it's hard to adjust. One can be going to bed when the Sun is still way up in the sky because the time is adjusted to the liking of city people! Animals may start waking up as the Sun rises but people are still supposed to be in bed according to the time. Country people complain a lot about time zones here!!! I would say that Aussie kids are more laid-back at school than US kids. They are often crazy about sport and lazy about academic merits. Top academic performers in Australian schools get little notice from other kids. In some bad areas they even get abused or bullied by tough kids! But if you are good at sports, you are heros and respected by every one. Migrant kids tend to dominate academic areas. Aussies kids dominate sports. There are 4 terms. Holidays are between terms. the longest holiday is Summer holiday after term 4 and the start of next year. It is about 6-7 weeks long.

What is the difference between the Public and Private School in South Australia?

What is the difference between the Public and Private School in South Australia? ?
We are new immigrants to SA, and we have a 6 years child. We noticed that there is a huge difference between the fees of the private school and the public school. In term of quality of teaching is there any different between them? Thanks

1 :
It can vary a lot. Speaking for Australia in general: Most private schools have a strict uniform policy, whilst many State schools are more relaxed. Some State schools are better than some Private schools in the teaching area. It is difficult to answer for all schools, but in my areas the private schools have definitely been better, having tried both. About 33% of all Australian children are in Independent schools of some sort, with about half of those being in Catholic schools.
2 :
well ive said for years that the goverment spends most of there time on the rich private school kids and the public schools get left for dead. pretty much if you are rich and dont wont your kids to c the real side of life than send them to a private school
3 :
im 16 and have just come from a public school to a private school. you really get what you pay for. i was at the best public school in the state (marryatville high) and am now at a private girls school. theres a lot more kids at the public schools and they come from everywhere, everyone is really different, whereas at a private school, it tends to be A LOT more conservative and the class sizes are much smaller, coz theres a lot less students. at public schools, the teachers dont seem to really care about the students, sometimes they dont care about what they're teaching. teachers at my private school are really caring and they know every kid's name. private schools have much better teachers. catholic schools are a good in between, coz their fees arent as much as a private school, but they still offer high quality education. good luck!
4 :
Is there any difference?????? YES!!!!!!!!! They cost more, but your kids will learn more, whatever you dont let them go to Northern Suburbs Public Schools, TRUST ME!!!!!
5 :
Speaking from experience PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO A NORTHERN SUBURBS PUBLIC SCHOOL!!! I went to a public school in SA after my family moved over from the UK, it only took my mum 4 months to realise that if i ever wanted to learn anything that will set me up for a University education and a real shot at life than she had to get me out of there. The students dont really want to be there and often don't go to classes (skip school and go to town) there are a few decent teachers that actually want to teach your kids but most are just there for a pay check and dont give 100% effort towards giving kids a better eduction. After moving to a private school in the same area i was shocked at the number of students that actually liked going to school everday!! AT the private school it was a lot more strict and for once i actually had to use my brain during class. I also think the uniform rule is better a private school. Everyone wears the same uniform (guys don't wear the dresses obviously lol) and no one feels like they have to try harder to wear the best designer jeans to school or the newest and most expensive pair of runners. And the kids who'sparents cant afford to buy those things dont get teased and made fun of because they are not up do date with the current "trends". I definitely found the quality of teaching 1000x better at my private school over that at the public school. If you can afford to send your child to a private school then please do. If you are having troubles with the money then talk to the schools in the area and some have a school card scheme where only pay a percentage of the school fees (if you earn under a certain amount).

10 points! Can someone explain to me how the school system in australia works

10 points! Can someone explain to me how the school system in australia works?
Like in the US and many other countries. you go to school from late august or early september and you get out by late May or early June. I heard that in Australia. You go to school for 3 months. Get a month off. Then school for 3 more months and then a month off and repeat. Is that true? Is college there like that too? and why?

School year generally starts end of January/ early February depending on what state you are in, and whether it's private or public. In South Australia where I live Term 1 lasts for 11 weeks then you have 2 weeks holiday. Term 2 lasts for 10 weeks then you have 2 weeks holiday and term 3 is 10 weeks with 2 weeks holiday. Then in mid December school finishes for the year and it's a 6-8 week break over Christmas and the New Years.
2 :
Schools and universities in Australia operate on different schedules and no two states have exactly the same term or semester dates. The basic pattern for schools is: First term/first semester begins late January or early February and runs for 10 or 11 weeks - usually until around Easter. 1 or 2 week break Second term runs for around 11 weeks until around end of June or early July 2 or 3 week break Third term/second semester starts around mid july and runs for another 11 weeks 2 week break Fourth term ends around mid-December. Year 12 ends mid-November 6 or 7 week break before the new school year begins. University calendars are completely different and are more like what you have heard: First semester begins late February and runs until end-May/early-June with a mid semester break of around 1 month in late March/early April Mid year break of around 1 month Second semester begins end-July and runs until around 3rd week November with a mid semester break of around 1 month around end-September Then a little over 3 months until the new uni year begins
3 :
School year (I'm speaking for Melbourne) usually starts at the start of February, then have four 10 week terms (approx. it can be 11 or 9) a year with 2 week holidays in between each term, so like 10 weeks school, 2 weeks holidays, then 10 weeks school, 2 weeks holidays, etc. For primary school students (years 1-6) they usually finish mid December, and high school students (years 7-12) usually finish a bit earlier, and especially year 11&12's finish sometime in November
4 :
You go to high school for one reason only. To get your hsc over and done with so you can go to schoolies week on the Gold Coast, get drunk and begin life in the real world.

Im not sure in Australia but in England you have to be 14 but because Australia is part of the British Empire their laws may be the same.
2 :
There is no legally specified age for Australia: http://raisingchildren.net.au/articles/home_alone_-_cyh.html
3 :
In Australia, there is no legal age for leaving a kid at home alone. It is each parent's responsibility to decide for themselves when their child is mature enough to cope with being home alone; giving consideration to individual circumstances etc and bearing in mind that they'll be held negligent should the child come to any harm in their absence. Hence it can be perfectly okay (and legal) to leave a sensible 9 year old at home alone; whilst, at the very same time, unacceptable to leave an immature 14 year old.

Is it against the law for you to not pay your school fees in Australia

Is it against the law for you to not pay your school fees in Australia?
Hi im in year 11 and last year i didnt pay any of my school fees and it wasnt a problem. I didnt pay because someone told me that i had a right to get educated for free. However this year, the teachers are not handing out textbooks unless we show them our receipts. So i thought that was so unfair. Oh i live in Sydney and go to a public school..
Primary & Secondary Education - 3 Answers

From what I gather, you are entitled to your education for free, and the fees are voluntary. However because textbooks are also voluntary (there's no law saying a school has to give you textbooks) your school seems to have extended its generosity only towards those who have helped fund them. It's a strange situation. Its not really fair that you should be disadvantaged like this, yet it seems unfair that a handful of parents should have to pay for everyone's books. Its hard to say what "should" happen here. This seems like a really strange system. Tough luck!
2 :
I think we have always paid our fees - I think, mum deals with all that. Technically yes, education is meant to be free up to a certain age (18 or year 12 for you, yr 13 for me cos I'm in NZ). There is a law about that somewhere.... But schools still do charge fees anyway. You should pay for all the text books, as you will need them. And then there are other fees, or donations as they call them - which I think they need a dictionary for because these so called donations are "compulsory", when "donation" is actually an optional thing. I would pay for the text books and just leave the other "fees/donation" alone. If they really want that extra 100 or so dollars then they will ask for it and you can figure out what to do if that happens.
3 :
The imparting of the education is free - but to access the science labs, textbooks, library, etc the school could limit that access to those that pay the fees. Fees are waived by many schools whose parents are unemployed, but there is no excuse for employed parents not to pay the extra fee.

The best thing to do when you study abroad is to decide that you will not talk to anyone (including Japanese people) in your native language. Even if you go to a school with Japanese people, you do not have to talk or hang out with them. You can explain to them that while you are in Australia, your goal is to improve your English. If you make friends with native Australians, your English will improve, no matter what school you attend!

and how am i supposed 2 know this????
2 :
Yes, definately. A lot of schools have special education units for those who are struggling to learn. If the particular school you are looking at doesn't offer this, tutors are always available to help. The teacher's main concern is to educate your child, so if you spoke to them I'm sure they could help you out with your child. Remember, communication is the key.
3 :
Yes. Nearly all primary classes have access to a teacher aid or similar who will really help the child one on one. Also, sometimes they can take other lessons out of their classroom in smaller groups with children with similar problems. Most schools will cater for your needs, especially private or catholic ones, just talk to the principles. good luck.
4 :
Yes for most schools (at least in NSW there is) there are support services within the primary school for children who need special attention. Sometimes a few adjustments might need to be made to the classroom, other times a teacher's aide (special) will be employed for in class tutoring. What you really need to do is get someone who is specialized in dyslexia to tutor your child, you should have been given some sort of referrel when the child was diagnosed with dyslexia. They teach them how to speed read and things like that. Search the internet, schools can do part of the work, but there's only so much they can do.

The school year runs from late January to early December. The year is divided into 4 semesters with approx 2 weeks holiday (vacation) between each semester. The dates vary from state to state and Tasmania has 3 semesters not 4. All of our seasons begin on the 1st day of the month, for example summer starts on the 1st of December. •Summer: December to February •Autumn (Fall) : March to May •Winter: June to August •Spring: September to November It depends on where you are in the country as to what winter and summer are like here. All different kinds of weather - Because Australia is such a large country, its weather varies significantly in different parts of the continent. Living in Australia can involve everything from sunbathing on the beach in scorching summers to knocking snow off your boots after a day of skiing and from sweating out the humidity during the build-up at the beginning of the wet season, to wrapping up snug and waiting at the bus stop in the pouring rain. In the north there are tropical regions with high temperatures and high humidity and distinct wet and dry seasons. In the centre of the country are dry, desert regions with high daytime temperatures and low amounts of rain. In the south are the temperate regions with moderate rainfall and temperatures ranging from hot to cold.
