I'm planning on studying abroad in Australia or New Zealand next year, and I was wondering if anyone knows about any good universities with education programs. I'm planning on majoring in Teaching in History. Any help and suggestions would be great! I don't know much specifically about education courses but most major Aust/NZ Universities would offer them. Monash and The University of Melbourne are among the top universities in Australia and the University of Auckland in NZ is also well regarded but the others are good schools too. Maybe think about which city you want to go to and start from there. Good luck!

It is true that University of Melbourne and Monash are excellent universities and their faculties are well established, but I would also consider that the programs will be very 'academic'. The upside of these universities is that they also carry excellent history faculties from which you will be able to pick and choose your subjects. In terms of having fun as a student I would be looking at a faculty that is in a large city as there will be plenty of things to do and accommodation is not usually a problem. Check out the education faculties at Queensland University of Technology (Kelvin Grove Campus) and Griffith University (Mt Gravatt campus). These are teaching campuses that are well established. They are in QLD and have a beautiful climate and are an hour away from the Gold Coast!
