I'm just curious, how long is an elementary school day in Melbourne, Australia? Like, what time do the students arrive and when do classes get out? Also, is it true that schools run year-long over there? I've heard that classes go year round with breaks between terms.

We call it primary school here. The day in most schools runs from about 9:00am until 3:00pm. Schools have 4 terms that begin in late January/early February. There is a break of a week or two around April; additional breaks of 2 weeks or so in June/July and September/October with a long summer holiday for about 6 weeks from about mid-December until school starts again around late January. The above dates are approximate as each state is a little different and private schools usually have slightly longer breaks than government schools.

Well at my school (I'm in yr 7) We start at 8:45 and end at 3:25 . It always been like this at my school whether it was primary o high school. We start around late january for about 8 weeks then get a 2 week holiday. term 2 is another 8-10 weeks then another 2 weeks holiday, then term 3 for 9 weeks then a 3 week holiday, and then the final term is 8-10 weeks then we get a 8 week summer holiday that goes through christmas and the new year.
