Can you become a grade school teacher in Australia if you got you degree in America

Can you become a grade school teacher in Australia if you got you degree in America?
I want to live there when I am older, because my uncle lives there and its so beautiful! I really want to be a grade school teacher though. Is that possible?

I'm pretty sure you can. My doctor and orthodontist are Indian and got their degree in like, India or Russia, I think. When you wait about 30 minutes for them to come back with scan results you look at everything in the office or read and I don't think they got their degree here...

I cant see why not. Why not do your degree here? Australia is beautiful but teachers often complain they are underpaid here.

In Australia the education degree you have for high school is different than the one you get for primary school. Here we need a 4 year Bachelor of Education (Primary Education) to teach in a primary school - note that in Australia most Bachelors are only 3 years so a B.Ed is a year longer than our normal Bachelors (so a Masters might be required in the US). The degree must have at least 42 days of supervised teaching in a school situation.
