Other than sports training after school in Australia, are there any other activities in school as well?
I know that some children have sports training after school, but are there any other activities they'll engage in? Like any other sort of training, such as music lessons or uniform groups?

Music, drama, dance, scouts, and anything else really. Usually at least one sport, often two or three. Most extracurricular activities are not organised through the school, but independently. Sometimes they are held at the school but the school doesn't have anything to do with it. For example music teachers may provide music lessons at school or at home. The school will also have it's own music groups etc and they will usually practice during school time.

?, come on, some of the questions. It seems Australians are marked as strange, FAR from it. They are normal adjusted kids as over here. They have almost the same as we have as in choir, music or bands, and Drama club. Almost forgot, this is how normal they are, they have after school detention, far from what we have. Please when your old enough, get a passport and a ticket and go, see what I have managed to see for myself.

I don't know much specifically about education courses but most major Aust/NZ Universities would offer them. Monash and The University of Melbourne are among the top universities in Australia and the University of Auckland in NZ is also well regarded but the others are good schools too. Maybe think about which city you want to go to and start from there. Good luck!

It is true that University of Melbourne and Monash are excellent universities and their faculties are well established, but I would also consider that the programs will be very 'academic'. The upside of these universities is that they also carry excellent history faculties from which you will be able to pick and choose your subjects. In terms of having fun as a student I would be looking at a faculty that is in a large city as there will be plenty of things to do and accommodation is not usually a problem. Check out the education faculties at Queensland University of Technology (Kelvin Grove Campus) and Griffith University (Mt Gravatt campus). These are teaching campuses that are well established. They are in QLD and have a beautiful climate and are an hour away from the Gold Coast!

I don't know much about Bond Uiversity but I can tell you that Macquarie University is a very nice friendly university in a nice area and commerce is its speciality. Are you Chinese? There are many Chinese people in the area surrounding Macquarie University, and around 7% of people living in Sydney have Chinese ancestry. Many students at Australian universities have difficultes with English, I don't think you should worry about it. Good luck :)

Lmao... Doctor? Well, Macquarie Uni (MQ) is a very reputable research university and has a lot of international and Asian students. It is also close to the North Shore, in particular, Chatswood where there is a large number of Chinese and Hong Kongers. I don't know much about Bond Uni so I can't tell you anything about that. Your English is very good by the way, I've seen worse which is way beyond understanding :) All the best!

I've heard a lot of bad things about schools in Australia, but the fact that these schools actually seem to accept that many students with such a substandard knowledge of the English language is simply ridiculous. I heard that only request the TOEFL exam, which is a joke in itself. To your question. I don't think you should attend any school in Australia. They can't be good if they allow students there that don't know English. That just simply should not be the case at a university. Sorry to say that.

Applications to UK universities go via an organisation caled UCAS. Their website http://www.ucas.ac.uk/students/ will give you lots of info. For the specifics of your question, most UK candidates will be applying for places on the strength of their A levels but to allow comparison of different qualifications there is a points system. For instance a grade A A-level in one subject is 120 points. So if a particular course typically accepts candidates with 2 x A and 1 x B at A-level that would be expressed as 340 points. Someone who gets equivalent scores on other qualifications would then be in with a chance of a place on that course. (Specific courses might have more detailed requirements - e.g. a physics degree would probably say you didn't just need a certain total score but also that you'd need to have acheived a particular level in physics and maths to be eligible.) The conversion tables for the tarriff are here http://www.ucas.ac.uk/students/ucas_tariff/tarifftables/. The problem is a quick search doesn't show up VCE (the VCE it mentions is a UK exam, I think Vocational Certificate of Education). This booklet http://www.ucas.ac.uk/documents/ucasguides/intquals_taster.pdf describes the Australian system (page 6). As you know the Australian jargon, you might be able to find the appropriate section in the tarriff table. If not try their FAQs or contact them.
