What is American Boarding School like? Is it much different to Australian Boarding School

What is American Boarding School like? Is it much different to Australian Boarding School?
I go to boarding school in Australia, and it's prep time (study/homework time) at the moment. Was just wondering what things boarding school in the U.S have that are like ours...and are you allowed the amount of freedom that we are led to believe. If you want, you can ask me about boarding school in Australia. I'm in Year 11, so you know.

hi there Patricia... I saw you nice answer for the other person to explain what I found it to be like... I cannot tell you what is like in the USA as Im at an all girls boarding school in South Africa (lol), and have been for a few years now... but then I saw your question about boarding... it would be nice to chat anyway.... Oh and I have two and a bit years to go (I'm in grade 10 now) before I finish boarding school and Im really trying so hard... even after all these years! Not much fredom here in SA... im sure its very similar an many ways...I was 11 when i was sent but i find i had this absolute and sometimes overwhelming sense of sadness and loss when i first came... i though i had come to some terms with being here... i feel if i had had more people to talk to and share what it about, it may of helped??? How was it for you when you started, how old were you? If you going to contact it would be nice... like i said I'm hoping to find more about others in boarding schools... its strange but dorm and school friends dont always seem to want to chat about how they feel... but im meeting many people on the web who do. Can you recommend a good hip hop dance school in Sydney,Australia

Can you recommend a good hip hop dance school in Sydney,Australia?
Im looking for people who've actually experienced the place, not just "I'VE HEARD.." Prefably a school that teaches more than just hip hop. Anywhere around Sydney is good but i'd prefer it was near the inner west.

I'm from melbourne so I can't say I've experienced dance schools over there. Though I have heard about Sydney dance company(SDC) offering Hip hop classes. Taught by world class teachers such as Yannus Sufandi who was on the Asian sytycd as a choreographer and judge, they also have a lot of guest choreographers such as JD from sytycd Australia. SDC has a very good reputation and world renouned dancers. Knowing many people who have studied there I can say it's a reputable school. They also one of the only schools probably in this country that teach a variety of dance styles including contemporary,ballet ,funk , latin american,JFH which is a combination of jazz funk and hip hop which is taught by Rhiannon Villareal from sytycd Australia. You're actualy quite lucky to live in sydney to be able to take advantage of such an amazing school connected to an amazing dance company.

Australian School of Dance. My first dance teacher was the founder of this and i trained there for 3 years. Its awesome hope you enjoy it and good luck!

You want answers from people who've actually experienced the place - then go to your local dancewear shop. It's their business to know who teaches what and where. Better than phoning around as each school will try to sell itself. Dancewear shops have no ax to grind so will give unbiased opinions (hopefully) so you could try more than one. Good Luck

Would i repeat yr.8 in my school in australia?
okay ive been absenting for 10 times for this semester already and i have been late alot of times already and my grades sucks. especialy in maths. but im good at some subjects. and also i moved to nsw for the first semester and came bk to my old xkool. and we are having the exams of friday. and i asked my teacher if its possible to repeat yr.8 if i fail my exams and she said its impossible 2. so what do u think

Every school has different fees so it's impossible to give you a firm reply to your question about costs. Also no one can tell you if it's 'expensive' because we don't know your personal finances to determine what's considered expensive or not for you. You will need to research the individual universities in order to get an estimate of their tuition costs and determine for yourself.

Actually this is an easy question to answer. If you are an overseas student in primary school (regardless of the school) the government fee is 4K per year per child PLUS what ever fee the individual school may place on you.
