I don't know what you mean by a boarding school for college. There are boarding schools in Australia, of course. But you can't just decide that you'll go there. Your parents have to apply, be interviewed and wait to see if you are accepted. You don't say how old you are. Perhaps you mean university, not school (we don't call university 'school'). They do have boarding colleges and you would have to apply. I think we use different terminology from USA (like 'college', 'school'). Try Google. Type in 'Australian universities' (if that's what you mean).

G'day, I have to agree with Cliffordex, since you are mixing 3 different study levels altogether in one questions. In Australia, schools means your general schooling, which is the first 12yrs of your school studies (Primary and High School). College usually offers non-degree courses (Certificates & Diplomas) after you finish your high-school study. University is the one to look for degree courses (bachelor, masters and PhD). All three levels of study may have boarding/on-campus accommodation facility in the institutions. However it will be terribly long answer for me to specify all three of them here. Please clarify your question and it may not be a bad idea to re-post your question in Travel - Australia, since quite alot of Australian questions are posted there, so you may get more responses. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)

G'day, OK... you are asking 2 different level of education. In Australia, most colleges only offer non-degree courses. This means they offer certificate or diploma courses. They are called TAFE (public institutions) or simply private college. On completion of diploma course, you can transfer to uni, usually on the 2nd year. University is the one offering degree courses, which means the bachelor, masters and PhD. There are only 42 (soon to be 43) universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The Australian uni's offering animation are as follows (no particular orders): Charles Sturt Uni (www.csu.edu.au) RMIT Uni (www.rmit.edu.au) Griffith Uni (www.griffith.edu.au) Deakin Uni (www.deakin.edu.au) Uni of Canberra (www.canberra.edu.au) UNSW (www.unsw.edu.au) UTS (www.uts.edu.au) Uni of Western Sydney (www.uws.edu.au) La Trobe Uni (www.latrobe.edu.au) Tuition fee & requirements will be available in those websites. Please make sure that the information you accessing are the ones for international students, not for local students, as there are some difference in regards to tuition fees. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification (in English and original language). The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year. If you are interested in the college courses, it is called vocational studies. You can try the online database I provided below. These websites are the one that I got the info abt universities. Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)

you cannot fail the school certificate in Australia. Just like the Higher School Certificate. all you basically have to do is write your name on the paper. you can do a really really bad job at it but you will always pass. You still have to do all the required assignments that go towards your mark. If you do really bad you will get a band 1 but that still counts as a pass.. (highest band 6).
